Vanessa Pohren, RN

Vanessa grew up in Fairfield, Iowa, where her interest in holistic health and wellness began. During nursing school, she worked at the Raj Ayurvedic Spa, which both deepened her understanding of integrative care and sparked an interest in figuring out ways to make preventative care more accessible for people.

With over 16 years of nursing experience in a variety of settings including long-term care, hospital-based acute care, labor & delivery, and ER ultimately landing in home health for almost 10 years, she brings expertise in case management, administrative leadership, and personalized care. Her career journey has also included studying to become a doula, further enriching her understanding of holistic and family-centered care.

Vanessa's eight-year journey at SunnyBrook Home Care, from field nurse to administrator overseeing multi-county operations, showcased her ability to adapt to diverse healthcare settings. She focused on delivering personalized care that respected each individual's unique needs and preferences, ensuring dignity and comfort in their own homes.

After the birth of her youngest son, she transitioned to private-duty nursing, focusing on end-of-life support and assisting families with long-term care planning.

Her passion for elder care led her to partner with Fairfield Cares, a local non-profit dedicated to making essential services accessible to rural Iowa’s aging population. Vanessa is proud to serve a community that mirrors her values—respect, autonomy, and dignity for every individual.

Hali Paez Reyna, MS Ayurveda

Hali has a diverse educational background and almost 20 years of experience working with non-profits in education, visual arts, animal welfare, and medical fields. She is a forever-student who loves learning and using her diverse skills to be of support. Hali became extremely ill some years ago which led her, like many, to seek health answers that resonated. During this time, she explored various integrative practices which greatly helped her along. She ended up completing her Masters in Integrative Medicine & Ayurveda to learn more to share with others. It is one thing to study information, but she feels peeling away aspects of her situation and applying integrative knowledge in real time gave her a deeper experiential understanding, appreciation for the benefits, and compassion for others. She loves being a part of others' health evolutions, as she is still on hers, too.
